RALEIGH,
NC – FEBRUARY 2005 -- Weller®, a Cooper Hand
Tools brand, has introduced the Weller® Micro Repair System
(WMRS), a high-powered soldering station designed specifically
for fine pitch, high density SMT soldering and rework. The
system consists of a 120 V micro soldering station, a micro
soldering pencil with one tip, and a pencil stand. A wide
selection of additional tips is available.
The WMRS, which is approved for lead-free solder, was developed
for industrial production engineering, as well as rework and
laboratory applications. The station is equipped with the
latest software-controlled digital electronics.
Newly developed Weller RT Series soldering tip cartridges
used in the WMRS reach the set temperature in just two seconds.
A high-grade heat transfer system ensures perfect stability
of tip temperature, even under the heavy load of ground planes
and multi-layer boards; a particular advantage when using
more demanding lead-free solder.
The combination of fast heat-up, superior temperature stability,
and ultra fine tips facilitate work under microscopes, as
well as on today’s densely packed SMT circuit boards.
For extended tip life, when placing the pencil in the stand,
the power is either switched off immediately or with a time
delay at the user’s discretion. The rubber grip on each
tip cartridge allows with tip to be changed by hand, eliminating
the need for a tip-changing tool. For additional user convenience,
the tilt angle of the ergonomic soldering pencil stand is
individually adjustable.
Weller WMRS Soldering StationThe WMRS is available through
production supply distributors and through catalog houses.
